The following map shows the location of the WARR venues and approximate travel times between each. 

Location of the Race: The starting point will be near the start of Steinbüelstrasse – see https://maps.app.goo.gl/6h15ixMnCESccyHj6 . The race course is car free and we recommend arrival on foot or by public transport. You can be dropped off nearby – for instance at Parking Lot P1, Fahrschulstrasse, 8302 Kloten or at the supermarket at Schaffhauserstrasse 165, 8302 Kloten.

Getting from Zurich Airport (ZRH) to Kloten is quick and easy, as Kloten is the town where the airport is located.

1. Getting around Zurich – Bus (Direct & Convenient)

These are the relevant bus routes for the WARR in Kloten from the airport bus stop:

  • To the host hotels and Kloten city square: Bus 731, 732 or 733
  • To the SWISS HQ: Take Bus 524, 530, 734, 765, 731 or 733 to reach the stop Kloten, Zum Wilden Mann.
  • To the Race Start: You have to options: take bus 524, 530, 734, 765, 731 or 733 to Kloten, Zum Wilden Mann. You can also take bus 530 or 734 to Kloten, Kaserne Ost
  • To the Award & Dinner Party: Take bus 530 to Kloten, Sporthalle Ruebisbach.

The ride takes 10-15 minutes, depending on your destination. A single ride ticket cost about CHF 2.80. Accurate schedule information can be found on Google Maps or the ZVV.ch website

2. Taxi or Rideshare

  • A taxi from Zurich Airport to Kloten costs around CHF 15–30.
  • Travel time is 5–10 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • Uber or Bolt might be slightly cheaper than a regular taxi but may be difficult to get for short rides.

If coming from Zurich City (Zurich HB) – By Train

  • Take the S-Bahn (S7) from Zürich HB (Zurich main train station) to Kloten Bahnhof (Train Station).
  • The ride takes about 20 minutes.
  • Trains run every 30 min.
  • A single ride ticket cost about CHF 7 (or CHF 14 for a day ticket for zones 110 and 121)

The city is also well connected to the airport itself – keep in mind however, while Kloten Train Station and the ZRH Airport Train Station are very close geographically, they are not connected and not reachable by the same trains.

Please keep in mind to purchase the tickets before boarding the train, bus or tram, make sure to either download the ZVV app on your phone or purchase the tickets at the airport bus station in the ticket automat.
